How Many Calories Are In Your Thanksgiving Day Dinner

It's no secret that the average person consumes approx. 2,000 calories a day. At least that's what every one of those nutritional fact charts basis their percentages on.

With that in mind, I read an interesting take on the average Thanksgiving Day Dinner, here it is:

Things normally start out with;

One mixed drink, one glass of wine, a cracker with cheese, half a cup of mixed, raw veggies, half a cup of mixed nuts, half a cup of fresh fruit, one ounce of potato or tortilla chips, and one teaspoon of chip dip. Sound familiar?

Then you sit down to diner;
Three cups salad with diet dressing or one tablespoon ranch dressing, six ounces of cured ham, six ounces of white and dark turkey, half a cup of stuffing, half a cup of cranberry sauce, half a cup of mashed potatoes, half a cup of gravy, half a cup of green bean casserole, half a cup of candied sweet potatoes, one dinner roll with pat of butter. Now, don't let your mouth water too much, we're not done yet!

Here comes the desert;
A cup of coffee with cream and sugar, two chocolate mints, a slice of apple pie, a slice of pumpkin pie, half a cup of ice cream, a small piece of fudge.

THEN, after all that, you go home and have a little left over turkey sandwich with mayo and cranberry sauce

All for a grand total of...
... Drum roll please...

 4570 calories!!!

In order to burn all those calories off, you will need to walk 45.7 miles, 73.70 kilometers, or take 91,400 steps, assuming you cover one mile in 2,000 steps!!!!

So in the words of my good friend, who shall remain nameless:
"You are what you eat!"
